TN Management Consultant and B-1 Monk Case Summary 05.22.2018

On May 22, 2018, Partner Jennifer Behm met two clients in Fort Erie, Canada in order to review their applications for admission to the United States before they presented them to Customs and Border Protection at the Peace Bridge in Buffalo, New York. The first application was for a TN Management Consultant. These applications can be tricky and are highly scrutinized by the government. We were able to prove that our client would have a hands-off consulting role and would be paid through his own independent consulting company, and he was ultimately approved. Our second client was a Monk who was looking to continue his religious studies here in the United States. We were able to prove that the B-1 visa was the proper fit rather than the R-1 visa for religious workers, as our client will not be paid in any way during his time in the U.S. and will only be furthering his studies. His application was successfully approved for the full one-year requested.
