Nichole Herr

Chief Financial Officer

Nichole brings over 15-years of experience in Operations & Financial management to the team. Throughout her career, Nichole has gained a wide range of hands-on management and business leadership after working with various professionals including a Board of Directors, Banks, and Attorneys.

After graduating the College at Brockport (SUNY) with a Bachelor of Arts degree, Nichole moved to New York City, where she fell in love with finance. At her first job, Nichole’s desk was located outside the CFO’s office, and from listening to him work, she discovered her passion for the field.

Upon moving back to Buffalo, Nichole decided to supplement her degree with some accounting classes she took at the University at Buffalo, and she got her real hands-on-training in finance at her next job as Office and Project Manager with Altus Management, LLC. After a promotion to Director of Finance & Operations, Nichole reported to the CEO and Board of Directors, which was comprised of senior executives from six regional hospital systems. She worked closely with hospital Materials Management Departments to compile and analyze spend. She also assisted the CEO with business plans, facilitated implementation, and provided ongoing leadership and operations support for regional shared service companies.

Before joining the BIL team, Nichole was the Director of Finance at Rupp, Baase, Pfalzgraf, Cunningham LLC for five years, in which time she helped grow the firm from 35 attorneys to 50 attorneys. She reported directly to the Managing Partner and was selected to manage all aspects of accounts payable, account receivable, payroll, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and months-end closing activities for the $12 million law firm (with over 50 attorneys and three subsidiary companies). Further, she was responsible for maintaining the accounting system, recording all business transactions and assets of the company.

In her free time, Nichole is likely spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys entertaining at her house and hosting parties and gatherings. While her favorite holiday is Christmas, Nichole’s favorite time of year in Buffalo is summer and she tries to spend as much time outside as possible. She starts every morning with yoga and while she tried kickboxing for a while, she missed her yoga routine and quickly returned to the practice.
