We are pleased to share a recent success story that showcases how the E-2 visa program can support both business expansion and talent mobility. After helping a U.K.-based consulting company establish operations in the U.S. and obtain E-2 status, we continued to assist by securing an E-2 employee visa for a key managerial employee.

Laying the Groundwork: E-2 Status and Business Registration

The client, a thriving consulting firm in the U.K., sought to expand its operations into the U.S. to access new opportunities and broaden its client base. With our guidance, the client formed a U.S. subsidiary, made significant startup investments, and successfully obtained E-2 status.

As part of the process, the client’s U.S. company was also registered as an E visa business under the U.K. E Visa Program. This registration grants the company the ability to sponsor U.K. citizens for E-2 visas, providing flexibility to bring in both new hires and existing personnel from the U.K.

Securing an E-2 Employee Visa

Following the company’s registration as an E visa business, the client identified the need for an experienced managerial employee to oversee the growth and expansion of their U.S. subsidiary. They selected a U.K. citizen to fill the critical role of Director. This employee’s expertise and leadership were essential to the continued development of the U.S. business.

To facilitate this transition, we prepared a thorough E-2 employee visa application that highlighted the importance of the Director role and the employee’s qualifications. We also assisted with scheduling the employee for a visa interview at the U.S. Embassy.

A Successful Outcome

The employee attended the interview and was issued a five-year E-2 visa. This allows them to temporarily relocate to the U.S., where they can actively contribute to the growth and strategic direction of the U.S. subsidiary in their managerial position.
