Executive Order Overview: L-1 Visa

In today’s video, our Associate Attorney, Zach Ahlstrom, discusses the impact of President Trump’s executive order on certain nonimmigrant visa categories. One of these categories is the L-1 visa. However, as Canadians are visa-exempt, Canadians are still eligible to apply for and renew L-1 status at the border.

When the executive order was initially issued there was some concern about the roll-out of the order as the guidance to CBP seemed unclear and rather vague. But we are happy to report that our clients have overall had positive experiences at the border and haven’t run into any issues since the executive order went into effect. If you are a Canadian citizen and are interested in applying for L-1 status, be sure to contact Berardi Immigration Law today!
