Advises on all USMCA-related matters, including L-1A/L-1B and TN work permits, with a particular emphasis on cross-border businesses and professionals pursuing U.S. employment.

Grace Vensel assists cross-border businesses and professionals put their talent to work in the United States. As an Associate Attorney at Berardi Immigration Law, she focuses on nonimmigrant work visas with particular depth in USMCA matters and northern-border adjudications, the firm’s home turf. From Buffalo, one of the busiest crossings on the U.S.–Canada border, Grace guides companies and individual professionals through the work permit process and works directly with adjudicating agencies to keep cases moving efficiently and compliantly.

Experience & Case Focus

Grace’s practice centers on employment-based nonimmigrant visas, including:

  • USMCA & Northern-Border Matters — her particular emphasis, advising cross-border businesses and professionals pursuing U.S. employment
  • Intracompany Transfers — L-1A executive and managerial petitions and L-1B specialized knowledge petitions
  • TN Work Permits — professionals entering the U.S. under USMCA
  • Specialty & Extraordinary Ability Visas — H-1B specialty occupation and O-1 extraordinary ability petitions

Grace built her immigration foundation during law school at the University at Buffalo. There, she worked with a nonprofit organization supporting VAWA self-petitioners and asylum seekers, as well as a private Buffalo firm handling complex business immigration matters. This experience on both the humanitarian and corporate sides of immigration law continues to inform her well-rounded counsel today.

Philosophy & Approach

Grace believes efficient outcomes come from preparation, precision, and knowing how adjudicators think. She anticipates the questions officers are likely to ask before they ask them, ensuring each petition is prepared to address those issues from the start. She also works closely with adjudicating agencies to keep cases compliant and on track. Shaped by her public interest roots, Grace pairs that technical rigor with genuine advocacy. She cares deeply about her clients and treats every matter with the care and attention it deserves. Clients can expect clear communication, careful attention to detail, and an attorney who recognizes that every case, corporate or individual, can be life-changing.

Beyond the Office

A Central New York native with a global outlook, Grace studied abroad in Bordeaux, France, and Dakar, Senegal where she traveled extensively throughout Europe and West Africa. Her experiences continue to inform her global perspective as an immigration attorney. During law school, she served on the board of the Domestic Violence Task Force and participated in the Buffalo Public Interest Law Program. Outside of work, Grace enjoys traveling, trying new foods, and spending time outdoors. Her favorite place in the world is the Isle of Skye in Scotland, where she is drawn to the scenery and rich history.
