Update: USCIS has Completed Data Entry for FY 2016 H-1B Petitions

U.S. Department of Homeland Security LogoUSCIS announced on May 4, 2015, that it had completed data entry of all fiscal year 2016 H-1B cap-subject petitions selected through its computer-generated random process. At this time, USCIS will now begin returning all unselected H-1B cap-subject petitions.
Due to the high volume of filings, the time frame for returning these petitions remains uncertain. The agency has asked petitioners to not inquire about the status of submitted cap-subject petitions until they receive a receipt notice or an unselected petition is returned. USCIS will issue an announcement once all petitions have been returned.
As previously announced, USCIS received a record-breaking 233,000 H-1B cap-subject petitions during the first week of April 2015. With only 65,000 Regular Cap and 20,000 Master’s Cap visas available, the government was only able to select approximately 36 percent of all submitted petitions this year.
Berardi Immigration Law prepares several H-1B petitions each year. Our office welcomes all inquiries from individuals or employers interested in pursuing this visa. Please call or email us today to schedule a consultation.
